OVERVIEW

The MCIT Data Analyst program assists you in developing strong database foundations, learning SQL programming, R, and Python, creating data visualizations and reporting using programs like Power BI and Tableau, and applying statistics and predictive analytics in a business context.

Over the period 2019-2028, new job openings (arising from expansion demand and replacement demand) are expected to total 18,000, while 16,700 new jobseekers (arising from school-leavers, immigration and mobility) are expected to be available to fill them. The labour shortage conditions seen in recent years are expected to continue over the projection period.

ELIGIBILITY AND REQUIREMENTS

Applicants with Post-secondary studies in Business Management, Social Science or Information Technology, are a good match for this Diploma Course.  Programming background not required. Students need the following (minimum) ministry stipulated requirements: Secondary V / High School Diploma with good knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Here, you will learn how to use data and analytics principles in your business. It will provide you the insight that you need to have as a Data Analyst.

Furthermore, you will learn about the world of data analytics, as well as approaches to analytics, data visualisation and data science that will enable you to improve business decisions and ROI.

In this course you will learn how to use SQL to store, query, and manipulate data. SQL is a special-purpose programming language designed to manage data in a relational database and is used by many apps and organizations across the globe.

You will receive a thorough introduction to Python's data analytics tools and methods in this course. It will introduce data cleaning and manipulation techniques.

The abstraction of Series and DataFrame as the key data structures for data analysis will also be covered, as well as tutorials on how to effectively use group by, merge, and pivot tables. Students will graduate with the ability to take tabular data, clean it, manipulate it, and perform fundamental statistical analyses.

You will learn about statistics—a fundamental component of data science—and keywords associated with it through this course.

You will understand skewness, correlation, regression, and distribution, as well as measures of central tendency and dispersion. Through statistical inference, you will be able to develop predictions that are based on evidence.

This course aids in your mastery of Tableau Desktop, a widely used corporate intelligence, reporting, and data visualisation tool.  For data-related positions, Tableau certification is highly respected by employers.

Our online Tableau course teaches you how to use the program efficiently for data preparation, interactive dashboard creation, the addition of new dimensions, and in-depth analysis of outliers.

You'll get the chance to put your newly acquired skills into practise through the project. You will learn how to tackle a practical, industry-relevant Data Science problem through focused mentorship sessions, from data processing and model creation to reporting your business outcomes and insights. The project is the last stage of data analytics training and will provide you an opportunity to practise it in a practical setting.
