COURSE OUTLINE

Implementing and Administering Cisco Solutions (CCNA)

This module provides the idea about the role and function of network components, Routers, Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches, Next-generation firewalls and IPS, Access points, Controllers (Cisco DNA Center and WLC), Endpoints, Servers and PoE

This module explains the various network topology architectures like Two-tier, Three-tier, Spine-leaf, WAN, Small office/home office (SOHO) and On-premise, cloud and topics of compararing physical interface and cabling types like Single-mode fiber, multimode fiber, copper and Connections (Ethernet shared media and point-to-point).

This module makes you to identify interface and cable issues (collisions, errors, mismatch duplex, and/or speed), Compare TCP to UDP, Configure and verify IPv4 addressing and subnetting, Describe the need for private IPv4 addressing, Configure and verify IPv6 addressing and prefix, various IPv6 address types like Unicast (global, unique local, and link local), Anycast, Multicast, Modified EUI 64 and Verify IP parameters for Client OS (Windows, Mac OS, Linux).

This module explains the concepts of wireless principles, Nonoverlapping Wi-Fi channels, SSID, RF, Encryption, Explain virtualization fundamentals (server virtualization, containers, and VRFs), switching concepts, MAC learning and aging, Frame switching, Frame flooding and MAC address table.

This module makes you to configure and verify VLANs (normal range) spanning multiple switches, Access ports (data and voice),Default VLAN, InterVLAN connectivity, interswitch connectivity like Trunk ports, 802.1Q, Native VLAN and Configure and verify Layer 2 discovery protocols (Cisco Discovery Protocol and LLDP).

This module helps you to configure and verify (Layer 2/Layer 3) EtherChannel (LACP), Interpret basic operations of Rapid PVST and  Spanning Tree Protocol like Root port, root bridge (primary/secondary), and other port names, Port states (forwarding/blocking) and PortFast

This module provides an overview of Cisco Wireless Architectures and AP modes, physical infrastructure connections of WLAN components (AP, WLC, access/trunk ports, and LAG), AP and WLC management access connections like Telnet, SSH, HTTP, HTTPS, console, and TACACS+/RADIUS and Interpret the wireless LAN GUI configuration for client connectivity, such as WLAN creation, security settings, QoS profiles, and advanced settings.

This module provides an idea about how to interpret the components of routing table like Routing protocol code, Prefix, Network mask, Next hop, Administrative distance, Metric, Gateway of last resort, how a router makes a forwarding decision by default using Longest prefix match, Administrative distance and Routing protocol metric.

This module provides an overview of the IPv4 and IPv6 static routing using default route, Network route, Host route, Floating static and Configure and verify single area OSPFv2 like Neighbor adjacencies, Point-to-point, Broadcast (DR/BDR selection) , Router ID and concepts of first hop redundancy protocols

This module provides an idea about the NTP operating in a client and server mode, role of DHCP and DNS within the network, function of SNMP in network operations, Cisco Systems, Inc, use of syslog features including facilities and levels, Configure and verify DHCP client and relay, forwarding per-hop behavior (PHB) for QoS, such as classification, marking, queuing, congestion, policing, and shaping, network devices for remote access using SSH and capabilities and functions of TFTP/FTP in the network.

This module provides concepts of the key security concepts, security program elements, device access control using local passwords, security password policies elements, such as management, complexity, and password alternatives, IPsec remote access and site-to-site VPNs, access control lists, Layer 2 security features like DHCP snooping, dynamic ARP inspection and port security, Compare authentication, authorization, and accounting concepts, wireless security protocols (WPA, WPA2, and WPA3)and  WLAN within the GUI using WPA2 PSK.

This module explains the automation impacts network management, compare traditional networks with controller-based networking, controller-based, software defined architecture, Separation of control plane and data plane, Northbound and Southbound APIs, Compare traditional campus device management with Cisco DNA Center enabled device management, characteristics of REST-based APIs (CRUD, HTTP verbs, and data encoding), capabilities of configuration management mechanisms Puppet, Chef and Ansible and components of JSON-encoded data.
