Instructor & Subject Matter Expert - Data Science
Montreal College of Information Technology is seeking an experienced Data Science professional to join our team as an Instructor. In this role, you will bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and real-world application, guiding aspiring data professionals through an intensive, hands-on curriculum. You will act as both a technical mentor and an industry guide, preparing students for immediate employment in the tech sector.
Deliver Industry-Aligned Training: Instruct students on core Data Science competencies including Python, SQL, Data Visualization, and Machine Learning algorithms.
Mentor Capstone Projects: Guide students through the end-to-end development of real-world projects, ensuring they meet professional industry standards.
Curriculum Contribution: Collaborate with the program director to keep course materials current with the latest trends in Big Data and AI.
Student Assessment: Provide constructive, actionable feedback on code assignments and presentations to foster rapid skill growth.
Professional Experience: Minimum 3+ years of industry experience in Data Science, Data Analytics, or Machine Learning.
Technical Mastery: Proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-Learn), SQL, and visualization tools (Tableau or Power BI). Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) is a strong plus.
Communication: Ability to explain complex statistical and technical concepts to learners with varying levels of experience.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Language: Excellent proficiency in English (Bilingualism in French is an asset).
