Instructor & Subject Matter Expert – Cybersecurity
About the Role
MCIT is seeking a vigilant Cybersecurity professional to train the next generation of network defenders. Your role will involve translating high-stakes security concepts—from penetration testing to risk mitigation—into actionable lessons. You will empower students to think like attackers to better defend enterprise infrastructure, preparing them for roles such as Security Analyst and Network Administrator.
Responsibilities
Security Fundamentals: Deliver comprehensive training on network security, cryptography, identity management, and risk assessment (aligned with CompTIA Security+).
Red & Blue Team Sims: Lead practical workshops on vulnerability scanning, penetration testing (Kali Linux), and incident response.
Compliance & Policy: Educate students on governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) standards relevant to the Canadian and global market.
Project Mentorship: Supervise capstone projects where students audit and secure simulated enterprise networks.
Requirements
Professional Experience: 5+ years in Information Security, Network Security, or Penetration Testing.
Certifications: Holding a CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ is highly preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with firewalls (Cisco/Palo Alto), SIEM tools, Wireshark, and Linux security environments.
Education: Degree or Diploma in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
Language: Excellent proficiency in English (Bilingualism in French is an asset).
