Important: Coronavirus Update – March 16

Dear members of the MCIT community,
Following recent instructions from the Ministry of Education of Quebec, and most importantly, acknowledging that it is an essential step to help to contain the propagation of COVID-19, the college will stay closed until May 1st. Considering this scenario, MCIT teams have been working diligently to implement distance learning options that will allow students to resume their classes. It will gradually be implemented in the following days and priority will be given to students graduating in the current semester.

As of now, the following students will have access to online solutions starting on March 19:

  1. Students who are in the project phase of the program (all admission intakes).
  2. Students who started their programs in Winter 2019 and are about to graduate.
  3. Students from selected courses from Summer 2019 Intake. Those specific students will be contd via email in the following days:
  1. Students starting online sessions on March 19 will receive further information via email in the following days.
    Other current students are expected to resume their classes on March 30, further information will be provided to those students by March 25.
  2. New students starting their programs in the following days will receive a communication from the college by tomorrow, March 17, with the details of their online orientation session. Date and time will be provided in the email.
  3. All learning activities are still cancelled until March 18 and all in-class activities, teaching assistant sessions and in-person exams are suspended until March 27.

We ask all the staff, faculty and students to continue practicing health precautions to reduce further risks:

- Avoid social gatherings outside your close ones
- Wash your hands often.
- Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer only if soap and water are not available;
- When you cough or sneeze, cover your mouth with a tissue or do it in the inside of your elbow.
